Getting to the School of Design

The School of Design is located in the Architecture + Design Studios building, on UIC’s East Campus:

The school’s administrative offices are in Room 1300.

CTA
The school is accessible via the Blue Line (UIC/Halsted station) and several bus routes: #7 Harrison, #8 Halsted, and #60 Blue Island/26th.

Metra
The building is approximately one mile from Union Station and Ogilvie Transportation Center, which serve Amtrak and Metra trains.

The Halsted/Taylor parking structure (760 W Taylor St) is the closest visitor parking garage. The school is a five-to-ten-minute walk straight north on Halsted Street from that garage. More information about parking is available at https://parking.uic.edu/facilities.

Enter campus from Harrison Street to access the main entrance to the building. Look for the sign on Harrison Street that reads Architecture and + Design Studios.

The building is behind a residence hall. Walk south into the drive toward the building. Then walk up the steps or ramp to the main entrance of the building.

To reach the administrative offices, walk down the ramp to your right. Pass through the doorway to the right of the vending machines; the offices will be on your left, next to the Fab Lab.
