Noah Wangerin’s childhood spent across four continents fostered curiosity and awareness of diverse worldviews, which inspired him to pursue a career in design. Beginning with five years at a Chicago design consultancy, he led projects for consumer, medical, and industrial markets. In 2014 he founded an independent practice to balance contract design with creative freedom to explore handmade bicycles. This practice continues to grow through client collaborations and commissioned custom bicycles. Noah explores new technologies while leveraging proven techniques, such as combining 3D-printed metal with traditional metal-craft or converting old bicycles into electric cycle trucks. He values learning through both success and failure.
Noah’s work has appeared in DesignBoom, Chicago magazine, Dezeen, and bikepacking.com. He’s exhibited locally, at Bridgeport Art Center and Agitator Gallery, and nationally at the IDSA Midwest conference, Philly Bike Expo, and Master Bicycle Builders Show. Velo, by Outside magazine, recognized his work as among “The Best Custom Cargo Bikes from the Philly Bike Expo.”
