By Public Transportation
The School of Design is easily accessible via CTA. Nearby options include the Blue Line train (UIC/Halsted station) and several bus routes—7 Harrison, 8 Halsted, and 60 Blue Island/26th. The building is approximately one mile from Union Station and Ogilvie Transportation Center, which serve Amtrak and Metra trains.
By Car
The Halsted/Taylor parking structure (760 W Taylor St.) is the lot closest visitor parking garage. The school is a 5- to 10-minute walk straight up Halsted St. from that garage. Further information about parking is available at https://parking.uic.edu/facilities. We can provide parking validation if you park on campus.
When You Arrive
Enter campus from Harrison Street to access the main entrance to the building. There’s a sign on Harrison Street indicating the “Architecture and Design Studios.” The building is behind a residence hall. Walk south into the drive toward the building. Then walk up the steps or ramp to the main entrance of the building.
Planning a Visit
The UIC Office for Admissions offers scheduled Preview Days and Open House events when campus tours and counselors are available to provide information about academic programs, admissions procedures, financial aid, housing, student life, and other opportunities available at the university.

MDes Info Sessions
Monthly Master of Design information sessions will take place over the course of the academic year. If you are interested in visiting the UIC School of Design or attending an online virtual session to learn more about the MDes Programs, please complete the online form linked below to confirm your attendance.
On-campus information sessions are held in the Architecture + Design Studios building at 845 W. Harrison Street, Room 2480.
