Linda Bracamontes’s professional work and research involve both print and digital design. Before joining UIC, in 2000, she was a senior designer for Morningstar, where she developed and implemented new corporate product identities, and a senior designer at Day Interactive Switzerland, where she focused on interactive and digital design. She was the editor of the AIGA design education journal Inform and chaired three AIGA design education conferences: Future History 2002, 2004, and 2009.
In 2005, Linda won the UIC Silver Circle Award for Teaching Excellence, an award decided by graduating students. She guides graduate students in a summer studio in Basel, Switzerland. In addition to her role at UIC, she leads design workshops, has lectured in Mexico, and operates a practice based in Chicago, ROEGERDESIGN, with her partner.
Her design work has received recognition from AIGA, the Art Directors Club of New York, and PRINT magazine. The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum in Geneva, Switzerland, have displayed her interactive work. She has received multiple project grants from Adobe, the Graham Foundation, and MeadWestvaco.
